2022-23 Scholarship Award Recipients

Lauren Edison

LaVille High School

Lauren has served as team captain in both soccer and basketball, while being a conference champion in the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles on the track. She ranks 2nd in her graduating class with a 4.0 GPA and is part of the National Honor Society. She is the Region 1 (all of Northern Indiana) DECA President leading community service projects, leadership conferences and fundraising. She has also been involved with Pep Club, Peer Mentoring, FCS, Toys for Tots, Feed My Starving Children, youth group, missions trips and many other service projects.


Among comments from her coaches: "She is a prepared leader and it shows by taking a look at how she chooses to spend her time outside of school and sports... If she wasn't there, our team wouldn't be the same... She is an exceptional example of sportsmanship... She has a nurturing spirit which allows her to show empathy in times where emotions might be heightened."

Zach Yergler

St. Joseph High School

Zach has been named all league in both hockey and lacrosse including being captain for St. Joe's state qualifying hockey team. In addition to carrying a 4.05 GPA, he is part of the National Honor Society, a school ambassador, tutor and Art Award recipient. Outside of school, he has also been involved with Christian Service Camps, N. Indiana Food Bank, Women's Care Center, Boys and Girls Clubs, Learn to Play Hockey programs and much more.



Among comments from his coaches: "He exemplifies integrity in all aspects of his life.. He constantly thinks of others before himself and is quick to give credit for his accomplishments to others... He is a competitor who enjoys being challenged and this spirit elevates his game and that of his teammates... I consider myself very fortunate to have had the privilege to watch him grow into a terrific, well respected young man... It is players like him which make coaching so rewarding."
